Darkfever - Karen Marie Moning This story was ok. It was readable but wasn't that extraordinary. Maybe its because I'm impartial about fae as other kinds of creatures are more interesting in my opinion.

The heroine is kind of annoying and brattyish...There were some scenes where I was kind if like wtf, and just continued on.
I was reading someone else's review and I agree that its a bit annoying to have a scene explained by the heroine instead of it being showed or described, so some info is missing.

I'm sort of interested in this series to maybe see what happens, but after a while if my holds don't hurry up it'll be forgettable that I won't even remember what happened anymore.
Heaven, Texas - Susan Elizabeth Phillips Giving this a second go....

Ok, so the first time I tried to read this, I was kind of put off by the main character, Gracie. Bobby Tom was also a bit annoying too.

However, by pushing through the story, the scenes got funnier and the story became much more interesting.

Not my favorites but readable.
Dream a Little Dream - Susan Elizabeth Phillips This one had less comedy and more serious tones. I found myself deeply immersed with the storyline, though.

Match me if you can is probably my favorite because of all the silliness and goofiness that made me grin and laugh out loud. I just can't help it when something is funny, it just captures my attention just like that.

SEP made all the characters seem real even with their pain and hardship. I was deeply immersed. I felt this story was similar to her other book about Sugar without the exboyfriend married to the old arch enemy, but thia story was way better. In this case Rachel was Sugar, Gabe was the british teacher, and the side story of ethan and kristy were the ones I hated.

Anyways, in this one there was no Rachel running away and no Gabe grovelling for forgiveness like in most of her other books, so it was a nice change. Family played a big part in this story, and overall this book left me with a nice closure.

I'm so sad because I've almost read all SEP's books and then I'll be left with no more of her awesome books to read. It will be hard to find another book or series now that I've grown accustomed to her books, and none other will be able to reach my expectation as hers has....sigh...
Double Time - Olivia Cunning Dnf! I think there is only so much of the same thing happening that I've become numb to this story.

I think this is the end of the journey for Sinners on Tour. It was fun and hot in the beginning, for some sexy times but having gone through most I would like some more substance for the characters.

I liked how the mc was badass at the guitar to rival Master sinclair, but her character was annoying. It was basically a fangirl, with hands that could rock a guitar. She was supposedly different, but I felt she was all the same as other roadie girls. I skipped to end and am glad that Trey is now has a partner, or I guess partners. Yay they all have a pair/s so now no one is lonely.
The Edge of Never - J.A. Redmerski Hmm...I did not finish this. I got to 70% of the story, and just started skimming to see what the big spoiler was, and was kind of disappointed. I was not moved at all, the story was bleh. The heartbreaking scenes were meh, and the gooey love love scenes were blarg. Their chemistry seemed fake and flimsy.

From the beginning, I was annoyed with the heroine. The hero is too good to be true. Seriously, you just met a someone, yet you're willing to road trip with them, and then decide to pay everything for the other. Ok. That is just so realistic. Not.

Their emotional yelling-fighting-makeup was over dramatic, and cringe worthy. I felt myself skimming a lot. I was reading other people's reviews, and some people hit the spot on what I was feeling. I can't string such eloquent words together to show how I feel, so if you browse around the reviews, you'll find what I'm talking about. Cheers!
Born of Silence (The League) - Sherrilyn Kenyon Wow, this book seriously is one of the most depressing and sad books I have read in a while. There's just so much that goes on from the past to the present. For a damaged hero, this one takes the cake.

Darling, or also known as Keve, is a sad and tragic character who undergoes hardship, and takes every burden on his shoulder to become a stronger and such a comokex intense person in the end. These hardships were not a cake walk. He's been through it all, rape, physical and mental abuse, torture to the extreme, mental institution, etc. Poor guy just can't catch a break. I'm surprised he was somewhat sane after all that happened, but was able to pull through with some good friends and a loved one. Though, it all has to come from his friends. Without them, he wouldn't have survived.

His loved one is Zarya. She betrayed him unknowingly, and feels terrible afterwards. I kind of wanted Zarya to not be the one and maybe be a side character . In that Darling really finds his true love while being held captive by the resistance, and someone else who was part of the resistance saw how he was treated and thus helped him, making hum live that person instead, but I guess this also works too.

Anyways, Darling withstood a lot of criticisms and was hated and made fun by his people, but it was nice to see the change in the end where he became liked and respected. But wow, this book was depressing.
Bayou Moon - Ilona Andrews I'm so glad that William got a book! I really like reading a series with different heroes and heroines per book, but still have past book characters having some parts and scenes.

In the last book, I was really sad that William just left after the big battle. Love triangles as re the worst!

I found it interesting how the author made William wolf character differently than other books. Maybe I just haven't paid enought attention or have not read enough. Anyways, because Willuam was born wolf pup, he has some moments where he has a hard time understanding some human emotions. He doesn't do games or tricks, but is rather straight forward, and grts to the point.

Cerise is pretty kickass. She was likeable, and there were some pretty good and funny moments.

OVERALL this book was enjoyable :-)
On the Edge - Ilona Andrews Let's just say I'm now a super fan of Ilona Andrews. :-)

This story was intriguing from the start, and it had all the elements of a good story. Stubborn and strong heroine, determined and handsome male but not too arrogant, awesome and funny side characters in the form of children, and a hateable evil villain.

The children make the hero likeable because it just painst a goofy picture. The hero trying to be standoffish or trying to talk to the kids, with the kids being all innocent is just such an endearing scene.

That's all I got to say ;-)
Dreaming of You - Lisa Kleypas This story is not too bad. However, it will be a forgetable book, nothing that worth while.

Oh SEP! You have ruined me! Now all expectations in romance are so high, none can live up to her standards. Thats why this book is alright, and not memorable.
Kiss an Angel - Susan Elizabeth Phillips 3.5! It would have been a 4 if there were more scenes with the tiger, Shinjun? Shijun? I thought those scenes were the best!

So, this story starts out with a daughter whose father gives her an ultimatum, to go to jail or marry a stranger. Since being an heiress for a long time, she goes for the second option, hoping there is a loophole.
She is supposedly ditzy, spoiled rich girl in appearance but with a brain. However, she doesn't really act like a spoiled rich girl, but is more like an optimist, do gooder, always positive, perky, chirpy girl.

At some points I was annoyed at her and her behavior. For example, she obviously didn't want to get married to the guy, but couple hours later, the guy is flirting with a waitress, and she gets jealous. I mean he is her husband after all, but I did not like it. However sometimes, her responses were pretty funny.

The guy, Alex, was outright mean. I did not like him at all. He humiliates her, demeans her, and treats her with no respect. Then after a tumble in the hay together, they start to like each other. I guess that is normal these days for people to sleep together and then start liking, but I thought that was mean. Daisy should have put up more of a fight, instead of just letting him use her to fulfill his needs. But since they are officially married....however, I just didn't like that, Daisy should have more self respect.

I loved the scenes with the animals, especially the tiger. Even though it seems a bit unreal with her talking to the animals, I just couldn't help but root for the tiger. Daisy is hated and lonely there at the circus, but when she sees the tiger, she is enthralled. Usually, she is scared of dogs and cats, but when she saw Shijun, she couldn't help but stare. Then, of course the tiger stares back. They grow a bond together, so strong, that only the Tiger will trust Daisy with taking care of him. It's funny, because even the tiger has an attitude. I loved it, where she was able to find comfort with the tiger, and be able to crawl into the cage and lay with the tiger. I liked seeing the reactions of everyone else freaking out about that, and only she can do that. Others will just get his face mauled off.

Anyways, the ending was nice. I guess I liked the middle and ending better than the beginning.
Ain't She Sweet - Susan Elizabeth Phillips I had a hard time liking this book. Don't get me wrong, I liked Sugar Beth, but everything else was kind of annoying.

First off, I know Sugar Beth was mean when she was in high school to Winnie, but I just couldn't spare any empathy for whinny wimpy Winnie. Sugar Beth has daddy issues because her dad loved his illegitimate daughter, Winnie more than Sugar Beth, hence all the torturing.

When reunited years later, Winnie exacts her revenge but I found myself disliking her more, and connecting with Sugar Beth. Sugar beth has a tough shell, and she matures and changed into a strong heroine. Winnie stayed the same, and I hated reading about her and Ryan.

Dude, Ryan, how did you end up with the Winnie? Winnie, don't you have any self respect? This was the boyfriend of the girl who bullied you, you should hate him for just standing there and doing nothing during your suffering. How could you still be so obsessed with him.

I like reading about long lost love reunions, but I hate that Ryan wasn't the main love interest. I don't know why but I found myself liking Ryan in the beginning, but I later hated him and Winnie. I couldn't stand them, and I hate seeing love triangles even if they were past relationships. I commend Sugar Beth for being strong about confronting past relationships, and moving on unlike Winnie and Ryan. Tho they do in the end, but seriously after 14 Years....come on.

I found myself impartial to Colin, but I like how cynical the banter was between him and Sugar Beth. Colin is definitely not my favorite hero in SEP's books.

I also didn't like the seawillows. Could you really just dump your friend and hate her even if she doesn't keep in contact? Then they were not good friends in the first place. And how could Winnie have become the leader just like that after being the victim of their bullying? Was she that obsessed with Sugar Beth to wanting to take over her life, having her friends and ex- boyfriend? I'm find Winnie just sad.

I know SB wasn't the best role model, and she has her own faults but I found myself more sympathetic towards her.

Gah, just thinking about this book makes me angry. I kind of wish I never read this, but too bad can't turn back time. Guess I just need to try and forget this.
Call Me Irresistible - Susan Elizabeth Phillips This one was pretty good. Call me entertained. :)

Meg is at her best friend's wedding, and she realizes her best friend is making the hugest mistake of her life because her groom to be is a robot who doesn't really love her. She wakes up her best friend's eyes to reality, and next thing you know, the wedding is called off. Lucy, her best friend runs off, and Meg is stuck in the groom's hometown. She would leave, but her parents cut her off, and needed her to fend for herself and grow some independence.

Though there was some parts that were a unbelievable, as long as you push those thoughts out of your mind, and just enjoy the story for what it is, it was fun.

Everyone in town hates her, even her best friend ex-groom, Ted. Ted is the son born with a silver spoon in his mouth, but he is also very smart with a brain very calculative and manipulative. The town worships his parents and himself included, and he is worshiped as a demi-god. No one can see past his god ship status, and Ted himself is forced to be superman and fix everyone's problems. As a result, he is a very lonely person with no one to understand him, until Meg came along.

Meg is a uncontrollable, emotional, and hell bent on making it on her own, even though the whole town is against her. They all make her life miserable, until she plays it cool and traps Ted in her trap. She sees him for who he truly is, and he hates her for ruining his marriage, but you know, there is a thin line between love and hate.

Their relationship progresses, and it was really entertaining seeing how it was all established. I liked that the whole town hated her, yet in the end, through trials and events, they all come to respect and love her. Even though Meg was snappy at them, and them at her, Meg fit right in. It was a nice little read on a Sunday afternoon.
What I Did for Love: A Novel - Susan Elizabeth Phillips 3.5!
I have some mixed feelings about this one. Well, here goes.

In the beginning, I was kind of put off by how mean Bram was to Georgie. He knew that Georgie saw him as a douche bag, so he tried his best to play that role for her. But later when the mystery was revealed, I was like ok, that works. Anyways, this story was decent but not my favorite of the authors.
Natural Born Charmer - Susan Elizabeth Phillips I really did like this book. I know there were a lot of sub plots in this book, but somehow I enjoyed them all. Love reunions are nice, and that played into one of the subplot's key theme.

Blue is such a cool and unique name. She was really interesting, and I found her really captivating. She guards herself with snide and sarcastic remarks to protect herself from getting hurt. Dean, the popular jock with the playboy tendencies, is opposite of Blue, and epitomizes the perfect laid back, charming, hot guy who adapts a don't give a care in the world, to protect himself from getting hurt, especially with his secret background. When they meet, sparks fly and they both know they are attracted to one another.

Since there is just so much going on, I'm just going to list some things that I really liked.

The family dance part was just too precious. It shows the beginning of a trust relationship with each family member who have suffered their own problems in the past.

The gypsy van was kind of random for Dean to buy, but it worked into the story nicely.

So far, I like the themes in Susan's books where it has a feisty heroine meeting an alpha male, with some interest banter, some broken heart time, some time apart, and then with some intense I want you back scenes. Wow, so far I really digging it :)
Magic Mourns - Ilona Andrews Loved it!
Magic Bleeds - Ilona Andrews Such a good series! I'm kind of ashamed to say that the beginning books were a bit dull, but these sequels definitely make up for the beginning. I just needed some time getting use to these characters and the story line.

This story wasn't as funny as last one, but it was still really good. I liked that whole scene with Kate and Curran fighting each other. Totally brought the tension up, and made for interesting read.

It's interesting finding out what happens, and finding more about Kate and her background. Definitely entertaining.

Off to the next book!
